SNFU INFO
|
SNFU descends from a long line of great Canadian punk bands whose names escape me right now. In 1984, they recorded their first record, ...And No One Else Wanted To Play, producing such classics as Cannibal Cafe, She's Not On The Menu, and This Is The End. It is still considered one of punk rock's most influential records.
In the following years, the band released If You Swear You'll Catch No Fish (1986), Better Than A Stick In The Eye (1988), and The Last Of The Big Time Suspenders (1992).
By 1993, SNFU included their current drummer and bassist. They signed to Epitaph that year, and released Something Green And Leafy This Way Comes, an album chronicling the softer side of SNFU. (Just Kidding, heh heh i'm funny.) Leafy does include the all-time punk classic Reality Is A Ride On The Bus. In 1995, SNFU created yet another miracle, entitled The One Voted Most Likely To Suceed.
SNFU's newest album to date, FYULABA, released in 1996, is their first cd not to have a seven word title, however the seven letters in FYULABA do stand for something, that something being Fuck You Up Like A Bad Accident. People mentioned on FYULABA include: Kate Moss, John Bobbit, Eddie Vedder, Dean Martin, Charles Manson, Axl Rose, Michelle Pfiefer, Tug McGraw, and Elfie Schlegel.
Brent Belke and Dave Rees left the band after their show on March 28, and since then SNFU has gotten a new drummer, Sean Stubbs and has been played a few shows in Canada. Their new live album "Let's Get It Right The First Time" will be released in Canada on July 21. They're played about nine shows on the Warped Tour this summer.
